This Monster was purchased from Name Cheap on the 9th of February, 2010. I decided to buy this domain after my previous domain, onemoreline.net, disappeared because my host forgot to renew it. Before OneMoreLine, I had a domain called flyingalong.com, and before that I had various freewebs and piczo sites, but you can read more about those on the web-designing history page. This Monster is best viewed in Firefox. This Monster is powered by WordPress, with the help of various Plugins.

The Name

You’re probably wondering where I came up with the name “This Monster”? I originally wanted to call my website “Paper Walls” after my favourite Yellowcard album, but that name was taken, so I decided to listen to various songs for ideas. Whilst I was listening to Crawl, by Breaking Benjamin, I heard these lyrics:

I’m becoming a monster,  just like you.

For some reason, unknown to me, the word “Monster” stuck out to me more than the rest. I decided I wanted to use it for my site name, but I didn’t want a monster, because it didn’t sound very powerful, so after brainstorming various names with the word ‘monster’ in them, I finally decided on ThisMonster. Why .org? because I’ve had a .com and I’ve had a .net, and both of those ended pretty badly. I wanted a change, and hopefully .org will bring me better luck that the other extensions did.
